Conf. States of Va. [?] March 8, 1862
Sir:
It is absolutely necessary for the members of
Companies in service, to remain in those Companies –
New Companies of Cavalry [-] other Arm, cannot be raised from
the Companies now in the field, by order of any body.
This is a time of extreme emergency – & it is hoped that every Volunteer
would be mindful of the honor of his [–] State
