Saturday 29 Bad weather much indisposed
still–scarcely able to do any business. A
tall good looking youth in a rough uni
-form introduced himself as a son of the
late Dr. Wm. Minor, (of Ala, brother of Jno B.
& Lancelot) He is here with forty other recruits
to join Capt. Hobbes company in the 9′
Ala Regt–Took him home for dinner
He was not [?] and I regret that he
could not stay with us longer. Nothing
of any particular interest. No letter, ex
cept a note from D. She Schele’ thanking
me for my exertions to get him salt on very
[?] terms.
